More About Blair

Blair arrived at Ocean Acres in April 2022, along with her brother Bentley and sister Blair That’s over 2 years ago. Blair is the larger one of the two girls.  They were all extremely sad, malnourished and very shy.  They had received no socialization and no kind or caring interaction, only rough handling and neglect.  It’s been a long road to cheer them up and win their confidence.

Blair is a happy girl now and she very much enjoys the company of other dogs.  She is still has some hesitancy with unfamiliar humans, but she is very food motivated so that helps to win her over.  She will need a calm and safe home, with someone who has experience of dealing with shy and nervous dogs.  Blair has been at Ocean Acres for too long, as have her siblings.  She really is ready for the next step now, to further her education and allow her to move on past life with us.  Blair would be considered a flight risk and would need a well fitted martingale collar and gps tracker; just in case.  If she panicked and got loose, it might be very hard to catch her.  Her home would need to be secure, ideally with a fenced garden; so that if she did get out, she would be contained.  Blair has never shown any inclination to jump out of pens or enclosures.  It would not suit her at the moment to be around children who were loud and too lively.  She has never lived in a house so would need support in getting used to that and she would need the company of at least one calm, happy, well adjusted dog to show her the ropes.  Blair is quite vocal, and certain situations cause her to bark.

Blair is desperate for help, and needs a person or family who will be patient and committed to providing her with the love, care and security she needs to fulfil her potential.  When Blair very first came to us, she was terrified, but we never pushed her and she has not bitten any one.  We believe those days are behind her now.

Blair is approximately 33lbs
