Blair arrived at Ocean Acres in April 2022, along with her brother Bentley and sister Blair . Blair is the larger one of the two girls. They were all extremely malnourished and extremely shy. They had received no socialization and no kind or caring interaction. It’s been a long road to cheer them up and win their confidence, and there is still some work to do.
Blair is a happy girl now and she very much enjoys the company of other dogs. She is still not so sure of humans. She will need a calm and safe home, with someone who has experience of dealing with shy and nervous dogs. She really is ready for the next step now, to further her education and allow her to move on past life at Ocean Acres. Blair would be considered a flight risk and would need a well fitted martingale collar and gps tracker; just in case. If she panicked and got loose, it might be very hard to catch her. The home would need to be secure, ideally with a fenced garden; so that if she did get out, she would be contained. It would not suit her at the moment to be around children who were loud and too lively. She has never lived in a house so would need support in getting used to that and she would need the company of another calm dog to show her the ropes.
Blair is desperate for help, and needs a person or family who will be patient and committed to providing her with the love, care and security she needs to fulfil her potential. When Blair very first came to us, she was terrified, it did look at times like she bit snap out of fear, but we never pushed her and she has not bitten any one. We believe those days are behind her now.
Blair is approximately 28lbs
