More About Miles

Miles was found late one evening, on a routine patrol by a police officer who is a supporter of Ocean Acres.  Miles was chained and thin.  He had no water available to him.  However, his tail wagged and he was smiling.  Our officer convinced the owner to surrender Miles and he came straight to Ocean Acres.  The very next morning, Miles was out for a cliff top walk on a leash – how his life had changed!
Today Miles is a very energetic and confident dog.  He is very food driven and would take well to training.  He is over exuberant at times and jumps up – he needs to be taught not to do this.   Because of this, he wouldn’t be ideal around very young children as he could knock them over.
We haven’t been able to pair Miles up with other dogs, because of his lack of social graces!  He charges straight up to dogs and introduces himself a bit too enthusiastically, and other dogs don’t like it.  When the other dog tells him to be more polite, Miles doesn’t take any notice.  Miles has not been aggressive, but he is not respectful of other dogs.  While learning some life skills, we think Miles would be best as an only dog.
Miles loves people.  He would be well suited to an active, sporty home.  If someone would take him running, or out on a bike he’d love it.
Miles weighs approximately 50lbs.
