More About Pepper

Pepper is an adorable girl that came to us with her 3 sisters and 3 brothers – 7 puppies in all.  They came from a place where their mother was chained and emaciated.  They had not been cared for at all; other than by their mother, who had done her best, even though she was starving.  They were in poor condition on arrival at about 5-6 weeks old and very immature.  They had a heavy worm burden and lots of fleas.  As usual, we cleaned them up, gave them the medication they needed and loved them.   All the puppies thrived.  There were 4 black puppies and they all look very similar and have similar personalities, it’s difficult to know which is which!

They were born with truncated/deformed tails – only one had a full tail.  Pepper’s tail may be short, but it wiggles and wags perfectly well.

In June 2021 Pepper and Shurri (her sister) badly hurt their legs by getting them stuck under a fence.  They both had casts on for 6 weeks.  The good news is, they have both made a full recovery.

Today Pepper is a happy joyful girl.  Her shiny black coat glistens in the sun and she is a picture of health.  She is a well balanced young lady, she enjoys playing with her friends and is exuberant, out going and friendly with visitors.

These pups are LIVELY so very small children would have to be supervised as Scarlett and her siblings have not yet been taught not to jump up.  I’m sure she would learn this very quickly given the chance.

Pepper is approximately 25 lbs.
