Corley

Corley’s story began with a phone call from someone who told us they no longer wanted their dogs. When we arrived, we quickly realized the situation was far more serious than we had expected.

The dogs were essentially living wild. They were not contained in any way, had very little experience with people, and were terrified of human contact. To bring them to safety, we had to humanely trap them.

The little family consisted of their mother, Ophelia, and her two puppies, Corley and Vellie.

When they first arrived at Ocean Acres Animal Sanctuary, they were frightened, confused, and unsure of what the future held. Everything around them was unfamiliar, and trusting people did not come naturally.

With patience, kindness, and time, Corley has blossomed into a happy, fun-loving young dog. She loves spending time with the other dogs and is very social with her canine friends. She has also been unreactive to our cats during her time with us.

Corley is still a little shy when meeting new people, which is completely understandable given her past. Once she gets to know someone, however, she relaxes and shows her sweet and affectionate personality.

Her next step is finding a loving home where she can continue building confidence. Ideally, she would have another friendly dog in the home to help guide her and show her the ropes. We have no doubt that with love, patience, and stability, Corley will continue to flourish and become a wonderful companion.

Corley has already come so far. Now she is ready for a family who will help her discover just how wonderful life can be.
