More About Tilly

Tilly is a SM/M sized mixed breed female, She stands 14″ tall at the shoulder and weighs about 30lbs and is approximately 7 years old.
She was originally rescued from the Animal Control Unit, due for euthanasia as they are a kill shelter and do not hold animals for more than a month typically. She was re-homed to an elderly lady who lived on her own and had no one for company and had just lost one of her 2 dogs.

Unfortunately the old lady lost her other older dog a couple of years later, so Tilly has been solo with her for several years. A couple of years ago the old lady had a bad fall and lost her mobility and was therefore house bound, but she continued to receive help with Tilly for grooming, vets visits etc., until early April 2025, when the lady had a stroke and had to be hospitalized for care. With her previous lack of mobility and then the stroke to compound that, she will be moving to a care home when she is discharged and they do not allow pets.

Tilly stayed at the house and fed by a family friend of the lady, but ultimately needed to be fostered and a new home found. She is being fostered now, but it is only a temporary solution as the person already has a large pack and cannot continue to foster her for much longer. Being with a large pack she has been shown to play well with them, especially the younger adults.

Tilly is timid when presented with loud noises like thunder from a storm or loud vehicle exhausts, but being with a pack and more intimate care from the fosterer, she is already showing improvement on that front. She loves people and shows nothing but affection when meeting anyone, she had a cat friend who would visit and play by her gate with her, so should get along well with other cats.

Tilly has been adopted in Canada!
