Vibes

This pair of bonded siblings Vibes and Cartel were rescued together.  We were called by someone who said she had two ‘well socialized’ puppies that she didn’t want.  Much to the dismay of staff, we found two wild, terrified and distressed little piranhas – biting and snapping at everyone.  We have no idea what had been going on, but fortunately they were only about 10 weeks old, and had not been subjected to it for very long.

At first they had to live in crates in the house with one of our caring staff, and after about a week of routine, stability and proper love and care from him they came around wonderfully. They are very bonded, and ideally they would be adopted as a bonded pair.  Vibes is the more independent of the two.  The male dog Cartel is quite dependent on his sister. They are now living outside happily with other dogs.  If you go into see them they jump up for affection, no more shyness or and no snapping.  They are definitely ready to go to a home.  It would probably be the best transition for them (especially Cartel) if the home was calm and any children were dog savvy and not too rowdy around the dogs.  They have lived outside so would need help with toilet training.  They both walk well on a lead and go for walks with visitors and volunteers.

Although they would be best adopted as a bonded pair, if they had to split up, with the right support, they would be ok.  Cartel would be the most needy.  Both would need another dog in the home.  If adopted as pair, it should be noted that Cartel does not like male dogs.
