Annie Oakley is a 4-year-old terrier mix weighing approximately 20 lbs, with a gentle nature and an easygoing charm that makes her instantly lovable. She is affectionate, people-oriented, and thrives on companionship, happily offering cuddles and quiet company throughout the day. While she enjoys her walks and some playful moments, her overall energy level is calm and balanced—she’s just as content lounging in the shade or curled up beside her person.
Annie has an interesting start to life, originally placed on a farm where she was expected to work as a sheep guardian. It quickly became clear that her heart was elsewhere—she much prefers human connection to farm duties. After freeing herself from that situation, she was taken in by kind people who gave her safety and care until she found her current home. Unfortunately, due to allergies in the household, Annie is now looking for a forever family where she can truly settle.
She is fully house-trained, well-mannered indoors, and can be left alone for several hours without issue. Annie is not destructive and typically spends her alone time resting or watching the world go by from a window. She is not crate trained and would do best in a home where she is free to relax in a comfortable space. While she may vocalize briefly when left, this settles quickly.
On leash, Annie is a pleasant walking companion and even enjoys a light jog. She shows friendly curiosity toward other dogs and would likely enjoy canine companionship, though her direct experience has been limited. She is gentle and sweet with children she has met and shows no interest in cats, though she remains a bit cautious around them.
Annie is not a frequent barker, sheds very little, and has lovely house manners—she’ll even sit politely to have her paws wiped after a rainy walk. She has recently been spayed and is in good health.
She would do best in a home where she is treated as part of the family, with people who are around for much of the day or can provide her with companionship and reassurance. Annie Oakley is a loyal, loving dog who simply wants to be near her people—and she will return that love wholeheartedly.
