More About Arlo

In October 2025, Arlo was spotted, painfully thin, tied to an old car at the side of the road. The sight was pitiful, and thanks to the compassion of someone who sent us photos and his location, we were able to step in. After a long conversation with the person responsible, they finally agreed to surrender Arlo to us.

When he arrived, we discovered that Arlo was not only malnourished but also extremely anemic and deaf. He required hospitalization and a blood transfusion, but with care and determination he made a full recovery. Today, Arlo is a bright and happy dog. He walks nicely on a lead, has a medium energy level, and loves spending time with people.

Because he is deaf, Arlo benefits from well‑managed introductions with other dogs, but he has shown he can get along with them. He has spent time loose, unsupervised with female dogs of all sizes. We haven’t left him unsupervised with males – but he hasn’t shown any negative reactions, we are just being careful. He could also thrive as an only dog, as he is undemanding yet deeply affectionate. A cat‑free home would be best, as he does seem inclined to chase.

Arlo is strikingly beautiful, completely white except for a few black spots on his ears. His coloring means he cannot live outside in full sun, as white dogs are prone to skin cancer. His ideal home would be one where he lives indoors with his family, going outside at cooler times of the day and avoiding direct sun. Protective clothing and sunscreen can also help keep him safe.

Arlo has endured so much in his young life, yet he has emerged with a joyful personality and a loving heart. He is ready now to leave his past behind and become a cherished companion in a home where he can be safe, adored, and truly belong.

Arlo is approximately 50lbs
