Astra

This sweet little girl was first spotted on Boxing Day, all alone at the side of the road. Every time someone tried to approach her, she would run away, frightened and unsure. We had to safely set a trap to bring her to safety.

The moment Astra realized she was safe, everything changed. From the second she was caught, she decided that people are the best thing ever — and she has been the friendliest, most loving little pup ever since.

Astra is truly everyone’s favorite. She walks beautifully on a lead and gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, children, and adults alike. She absolutely adores being petted and will happily soak up all the affection you can give. She travels well in the car and, once walk time or playtime is over, she’s perfectly content to curl up by your side and drift off to sleep.

At just 15 pounds and about a year old, Astra is a petite little companion with a wiry coat and a face that’s as cute as a button. She’s fairly low energy, gentle, and easy to live with — the kind of dog who simply wants to love and be loved.
