More About Geoff

Geoff is another instance of a poor soul found starving on the highway.  He has been brought back to health and now looks great.  However, the person that found him cannot keep him.  He is currently boarded, living next to other dogs.  He doesn’t bother with the dogs that are on the other side of the wire fence from him, he is completely unreactive.  Where he is living there are many dogs, lots are small ones and they do get very excited and bark and run around a lot.  Geoff is unresponsive, he doesn’t join in.  He is very calm.  We haven’t tried him living with another dog in his pen because we’re not in a position at the moment to monitor their progress together – introductions always need careful management.  But he is nose to nose and sniffing with various dogs through the wire, male and female dogs and he is not responding in any way.  He’s not excited, aggressive, or particularly bothered about them.  There is a female in heat on the other side of his wire and he’s not interested in her either (although one of her companions is and even that doesn’t bother Geoff).  Walking on a leash, when other dogs bark etc, he again is non reactive.

NOTE: We have put ‘depends’ in his details with regard to ‘good with other dogs’ just because we haven’t tried him living with other dogs – that would have to be assessed as with any dog.

He’s very affectionate and fun loving, always happy and smiling.  He loves strokes and likes to be around people.  Sometimes he jumps up for attention, but it is not overly pushy, actually quite a gentle ‘jump up’ for a dog of his size. He would make a lovely house dog and would be wonderful company.  I’m sure he’d enjoy walking and going out and about, but we have our suspicions that Geoff might be a bit of a couch potato – he might like a nice lie down in a warm, comfy bed!

Geoff is approximately 47lbs
