Kookie

Cookie is a straightforwardly good natured boy that was unfortunately abandoned by his family.  Ocean Acres received a phone call one day from his family advising they had to leave the home they were living in and would not be able to take him with them.  When asked for their departure date, they said “tomorrow”!  Given the late hour and notice and the need to create a place for him at the shelter, the soonest staff could run out to get him was the next morning so his family was instructed to keep him safe overnight and they would be there first thing. By morning, we discovered they’d lost him.  Our team dispatched immediately and had everyone out looking for him.  Thankfully we found him and he happily came to live with us!

He’s a very interesting looking dog, as perhaps the pictures show, he’s got a funny little mane of hair on his neck that grows oddly, but we think it just makes him look regal.  He’s a very easy going and social dog, he gets along with all types of people and dogs, no matter their age.  He is not aggressive at all. He has been living with Ivy and they have gotten on well.  He would be suitable for any type of family. He’s energetic and lively and loves to have a run around.  He has not had much exposure to toys due to the nature of the group environment, but our staff and volunteers think he would absolutely love to have the opportunity to have a human to learn about toys and play with.  He’s got a very manageable energy level and would love someone to go for walks and hikes with.

Kookie is approximately 38 lbs.
