Satiah
- Date Adopted: November 26, 2023
**UPDATE – Satiah has been adopted! She travelled to Canada on our MJET Freedom Flight on November 26th and has found a new home thanks to the generosity of our amazing friends here at MJet Barbados and our wonderful rescue partners in Canada.
Satiah was in a bit of a predicament when we were notified about her, in April 2023. We were told she was a stray dog, often seen wandering who had given birth to her puppies underneath someone’s house, and there was only a very tiny gap to access them. On visiting the location we found her, very thin, hungry, and trying her best to look after her pups. She was still bleeding from the birth. She was happy to come out and eat, but we couldn’t easily reach the pups. We returned with reinforcements and managed to get the 5 puppies out. We took them to Ocean Acres to start their recovery and new lives.
The next day Satiah was bleeding heavily and had to be rushed to the vet. She was very anemic and we weren’t sure if she would pull through – but she did.
Now her puppies are independent of her (Shamari, Maleek, Akim, Eulene, Joshua). Momma is ready for some ‘Satiah time’. Satiah is quite energetic, she is fine with other dogs, but needs a proper, managed introduction. Right now she probably wouldn’t be a dog park candidate. She is possessive over her food, she doesn’t want other dogs to have it; so in a multi dog household, feeding should be supervised. she is ok with children, but as always children must be respectful – Satiah will never have known what it’s like to be loved or have any kind of security or home, so it will be unfamiliar to her.
Satiah is approximately 30lbs
