Whitey

- Date Adopted: May 29, 2021
Whitey has had a rough go at life. We noticed when she arrived that her back leg was bothering her. X-rays showed that it was broken in a way that usually indicates trauma, such as being hit by a car. The surgery to repair her hip wasn’t successful and she ended up having to have the leg amputated.
Despite everything, Whitey is a happy, healthy girl who simply loves to run about and play. She loves to give kisses, play fetch and run about with the other dogs she lives with. She has not let her injured and then missing leg slow her down and she gets on beautifully with her three legs. If she could be running about, playing with a human and other dogs for the rest of her life, she would be one happy dog. She is not aggressive towards other dogs and knows to sit – even with a missing back leg.
Don’t let the missing leg fool you – Whitey is just like every other dog. She requires no special care or accommodations.
Whitey is a Barbados Ruffugee adopted in Canada!!
UPDATE
Whitey, adopted now, has her own family. It’s wonderful to see where she has ended up, knowing where she came from. Happy new life Whitey.
