More About Bentley

Bentley arrived at Ocean Acres in April 2022, along with his sisters Bethany and Blair.  They were extremely malnourished and extremely shy.  They had received no socialization and no kind or caring interaction.  It’s been a long road to cheer them up and win their confidence, and there is still some work to do.  They are happy dogs now and they very much enjoy the company of other dogs.  They still have some hesitancy around humans.

Bentley will need a calm and safe home, with someone who has experience of dealing with shy and nervous dogs.  He really is ready for the next step now, to further his education and allow him to move on past life at Ocean Acres.  Bentley would be considered a flight risk and would need a well fitted martingale collar and gps trackers; just in case.  if he panicked and got loose, it might be difficult to catch him.  The home would need to be secure, ideally with a fenced garden; so that if he did get out, he would be contained.  It would not suit him at the moment to be around children who were loud and too lively.  The company of another calm dog to show him the ropes would be beneficial to him.

Bentley is currently enjoying daily walks with another female dog.  He goes in and out of the office at Ocean Acres and we are trying to familiarize him to new environments. He does great in a household environment.  He is unsure about children and doesn’t enjoy puppy energy.  He is doing really well and enjoying his life.   He would be suited to a calm and confident person or family who is patient and committed to providing him with the love, care and security he needs to fulfil his potential.  Throughout the whole time we have had him, even at his most scared, he has not been snappy out of fear.

Bentley is approximately 40lbs
